Who You Are
You are a highly-experienced Employment Lawyer with substantial relevant post-qualification experience and strong knowledge of employment law. You are a qualified Solicitor, Barrister or FILEX. Experience in local government is desirable but not necessary. You are proficient in using Microsoft Word and electronic case management systems. If seeking a PO4/PO5 appointment, you should have extensive experience handling complex casework. For those at PO5 level, the ability to conduct complex matters with minimal supervision and the competency to supervise junior staff is essential.
What the job involves
You will join the Legal Services team at the London Borough of Lambeth on a temporary to permanent basis (subject to application). Your primary task will involve providing high-quality legal advice across employment matters and managing a varied caseload. You will be responsible for preparing cases for hearings and drafting legal documentations. You will work closely with various Council departments, senior officers, and external Counsel. Supporting corporate projects and recruitment-related legal work will also fall under your responsibility. This role may involve supervising junior staff of PO5 level. Keeping accurate case records and meeting set deadlines is a must.
