HGV Driver Team Leader (Grade E)

Who You Are
You are an experienced professional with a clean LGV driving licence - category C. You have relevant experience within a similar role and a good understanding of Health and Safety issues. You are able to work without close supervision and have good communication skills. You understand the purpose of the recycling and waste service and are committed to providing a quality service. You are flexible, able to adapt to any services and are willing to undergo any relevant training. Welsh language skills are desirable but not essential.
What the job involves
This role involves driving Refuse Collection Vehicles (RCVs) or other vehicles for the collection of recycling and waste in a courteous, professional manner. As a driver, you will be the Team Leader overseeing the Loaders and keeping in contact with Area Supervisors about any issues/problems. You will ensure the crew is safely and efficiently undertaking collections, comply with Health and Safety regulations and monitor recycling for contamination. You will also carry out daily safety checks of the vehicle, report any defects, maintain accurate documentation, and assist with various other duties as per the need. Position located in Abergavenny and the working pattern is Monday to Thursday 7am to 3pm, Friday 7am to 2.30pm including bank holidays.
